Harvest Teams
What is a Harvest Team?
A Harvest Team is a group of people comprised of members, attenders or friends of Grace Church that meet monthly with the purpose of praying for our missionaries.
Why are there Harvest Teams?
Everyday our missionaries are invading enemy territory and engaging in spiritual warfare. In many of these countries Satan has held uncontested power and control in the lives of people. He has deceived and blinded the minds of people from the truths of the Word of God and does not give up ground without attacks and counter attacks. II Corinthians 10:4 states that the weapons we fight with are not weapons of this world. We need to pray for their protection from the enemy, as well as for God's power to be upon them to be able to see people come to know Christ as they share the Good News.
Our missionaries need us to pray for them as they raise their children on a foreign field. They need wisdom to be a godly parents and role model in all they do with their children.
Many missionaries struggle with loneliness. It is easy to fall prey to feeling lonely in a foreign land when surrounded by people of another culture and language. Loneliness is one way the enemy can use to discourage a missionary. All missionaries need to know that they are loved, thought about and continuously prayed for. Harvest Teams send birthday cards, anniversary card and special gifts throughout the year. Along with their love and prayers this is a terrific encouragement to God's servants.
In addition to the eternal rewards and heavenly blessings, you will find yourself in the heart of a group that will become a special "family" to you. During your Harvest Team meeting their will be time to pray for the needs of each other, as well as, the needs of our church and for your teams missionaries.
Where and When Do Harvest Teams Meet?
Harvest Teams meet once a month usually in a home chosen by the Harvest Team. Many teams have a time of fun and food after they have spent time praying for their missionaries.
How to join a Harvest Team?
There are a couple of ways to join a Harvest Team. The first is to contact the leader of the team for the missionary you would like to pray for and begin attending the team's fellowships.
