Why don't we build an access road connecting our property with Broadway Avenue?
What are the plans for the 50 acres to our north?

Q. Is Grace Church affiliated with any denomination?
A. Yes, Grace Church affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention in 1998. Our desire is to work in cooperation with the Baptist Convention of Iowa (the SBC’s local association) on church planting projects and various ministry opportunities.

Q. Why don't we build an access road connecting our property with Broadway Avenue?
A. An access road was originally part of a proposed housing development utilizing a portion of the 50 acres to our north. For a variety of reasons, this development never became a reality. The cost for Grace Church to put in an access road apart from a development would be close to $1 million.

Q. What are the plans for the 50 acres to our north?
A. At this time, we do not have any immediate plans. There are a lot of options, but it is important to remember that the land is dedicated to ministry, and God is not making any more land, so we are waiting on the Lord to see how He desires to use it. Until the Lord reveals His plans, we will continue to farm the land, which provides approximately $8,000 a year in income to the church.

Q. Why don’t we change the sign more often in front of the church along the freeway?
A. The City of Des Moines prohibits us from changing the sign more than once a day. Given the size limitations and the inability to place more than one message per day on the sign, we have determined that time and temperature will be most useful to motorists on a regular basis. Occasionally, we will put a seasonal message on the sign that will fit within the three line, nine-character limit.

Q. Who should give online?
A. Anyone who is looking for a simpler way to ensure their giving. Anyone who would like to give to the ministry of Grace Church either one-time or on a recurring basis.

Q. Is online giving secure?
A. Yes, it is! Check out our security information where we describe the features of 128-bit encryption.

Q. When are gifts processed?
A. All gifts are processed on the 15th and 30th of the month.

Q. If I don’t write checks, how do I keep my checkbook balance straight?
A. Your contribution is made on a pre-established day, so you can deduct it from your checkbook then.

Q. What if I’m not a member of Grace Church, but I want to make a donation? How would I be able to get a statement for tax purposes?
A. We are happy to receive your gift, above and beyond your normal giving to your own church home. Online giving is a simple and expeditious way for you to give. All givers receive a contribution statement electronically regardless of membership status, assuming we have all of the correct email contact information. You will also receive a hard copy at the beginning of the year from Grace Church that will be sent to the address you provided to us online.

Q. What if I want to cancel or change my online giving?
A. No problem. Log back into our secure system, click on "My History," then select "My Payments" then select whether to edit or delete your recurring payment.

Q. Will my online gifts be included on my Statement of Contributions?
A. Yes, they will be included.

Q. Can I view my past giving history online?
A. Yes, once you have set up a profile, you can then access your online giving history as well as make other changes to your giving profile. We hope to have in place by the end of the year the ability to login and view both your online giving and traditional giving via our website.

Q. How can I get a receipt of my online gift?
A. You may print out your confirmation screen as your receipt, or you may also print out the confirmation email which is sent to you. Either is considered a valid receipt. But remember, your gift will also appear on your regular statement of contributions.

Q. Can I designate my gift to a special purpose?
A. No. At this time we are only setup to take gifts to the Ministry Fund (general fund). These gifts will be prayerfully allocated by our Elders to ministry and mission needs. If you would like to designate a gift to a specific fund, simply state the purpose in the check memo and then drop it in the offering or mail it to our offices at:
