Ministry Report from Jean Marc Desire

August  2006

Dear Supporters, Prayer Partners, and Friends :

Greetings!

I want to thank you for your prayers and support at this time of  great chaos and confusion in Haiti. The waves of violence and kidnapping  for the past days have driven out a lot of foreign missionaries and aborted a lot of short term mission trips to Haiti this summer, which is a major loss for a number of ministries in Haiti like ours that usually look forward to welcoming those that come over from afar to minister to us in the spirit of the good Samaritan.

We look to the Lord every day for strength and safety to continue to shepherd His flock specially at this time of severe testing of our faith facing our fears. He has enabled us to bear more fruit in the midst of adversity and has kept us focused on the work that needs to be done.

We held a week ago at our ministry headquarter a revival service with an evangelistic touch  that brought over thirty souls to the Savior in just one week  Also, our people ‘s faith needed a “boost “ from God’s Word  and they received it gladly with hearts lifted up in thanksgiving to God

Prayer has played a major part in helping our folks to cope with this troublesome situation in Haiti.  As a ministry, we have added more prayer into our meetings, and we have called for a fast every Thursday, inviting those who can, to come to our churches for prayers and those that can not to unite with us in spirit where ever they are. At this point, our faith is greater than our fears, and we continue to climb in the strength of the Lord  every day to higher grounds.

With a lot of businesses that have closed their doors resulting in more unemployment in Haiti, many of our people have turned to our rescue mission ministry for help. With school that re-opens here soon, many parents turn to our Christian school ministry for help.  We need more sponsors to meet the need of a greater number of kids than last year. With so many of our folks unable to afford medical care especially at this time, our medical ministry has been so effectively used  to bring relief  to many.

Your faithful partnership is what keeps us moving here; and we praise God for using you to minister and to be a blessing to us  here in Haiti. When we count our blessings we count you, and we name you  at the  throne of God and thank Him for you. Brethren, pray for us! God bless you for serving Him with us in Haiti!

Yours in Christ ,
