Church isn’t an event we attend. Church is a family we belong to.

That is the core behind the book, Love Your Church, by Tony Merida. This short read helps us see the local church not as a place where we simply watch, listen, and leave, but as a people we have been joined to by the grace of God. In Christ, we aren’t an audience. We are brothers and sisters. We are members of one body. We’re a family with a shared mission.

We exist to glorify God by making disciples of Jesus Christ across the street and around the world. That mission is not reserved for a few people with passports, flexible schedules, or an extra level of boldness. It belongs to all of us. Going as a disciple is not a special category for extra adventurous Christians. It is part of what it means to follow Jesus.
